Dr. John Norian was recently quoted in an article for The Paper Gown, powered by Zocdoc and written by Krissy Brady titled “The Men’s Guide to Infertility.”
According to the World Health Organization, roughly 1 in 6 people worldwide are affected by infertility. In the United States, around 15% of couples have issues conceiving, and about 50% of the time, male infertility is a contributing cause.
Some causes of male infertility include sperm disorders, structural problems, and underlying health issues like chronic infections. For example, “men who’ve had chronic prostatitis—inflammation of the prostate gland—may be at risk for infertility as well,” says Dr. John Norian, a reproductive endocrinologist at HRC Fertility Pasadena and HRC Fertility Rancho Cucamonga in California.
The article goes on to discuss diagnosing male infertility and treatment options for male infertility which can include lifestyle changes and assisted reproductive technology (ART).
