Meet Dr. Esther H. Chung

Dr. Esther Chung of HRC Fertility Fullerton and Newport Beach.HRC Fertility is proud to welcome Esther H. Chung, MD, FACOG to our group of award-winning physicians.  Dr. Chung is currently seeing patients at the Fullerton and Newport Beach HRC Fertility offices.

Esther H. Chung, MD, FACOG is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) specialist dedicated to helping patients achieve their dream of parenthood through compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based care.

A summa cum laude graduate of Harvard College, Dr. Chung earned highest honors in Neurobiology before attending Harvard Medical School, where she discovered her passion for fertility while completing a sub-internship in REI at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Duke University, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident for Wellness and received multiple awards for her excellence in teaching and research. Dr. Chung went on to complete her REI fellowship at Stanford University, where she further honed her clinical and research expertise.

Dr. Chung is an accomplished researcher whose work has been published in leading medical journals, including Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fertility & Sterility, AJOG, and Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology. She has presented numerous abstracts at national conferences such as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS). Her research has earned her honors including the Hammond Research Day Award, the Suheil & Lisa Muasher Award for Excellence in REI, and the 2025 PCRS Excellence in Training Award for her innovative work on cost-conscious approaches to IVF and egg freezing.

Passionate about expanding access to fertility care, Dr. Chung collaborates with fertility and femtech startups to help improve care delivery and affordability. Her professional interests include oncofertility, fertility preservation, machine learning and AI in reproductive medicine, cost-effectiveness research, and using social media to educate and empower patients. She is also a strong advocate for diversity and equity in medical leadership.

Dr. Chung is fluent in English and Korean and conversational in Spanish. She is deeply committed to guiding each patient with empathy, clinical excellence, and unwavering support throughout their fertility journey.
