HRC Fertility: Clinical Research & Innovation
Leading the Future of Fertility Care
At HRC Fertility, innovation is not just a concept, it is what sets us apart from other providers. Under the leadership of our Director of Clinical Research, Robert Boostanfar, MD, FACOG, HRC Fertility is one of a select number of practices in the United States actively leading advanced fertility research at the highest level.
Dr. Boostanfar currently serves as the principal investigator on multiple Phase III FDA clinical trials, placing HRC Fertility at the forefront of the next generation of infertility medicine.
These studies are designed to improve outcomes while reducing the physical, emotional, and financial burden of traditional fertility treatments, expanding options for people who are trying to build their families.
Unlike most fertility centers, HRC Fertility is advancing innovation across all aspects of care:
- Surgical advancements
- Laboratory and embryology breakthroughs
- New medications and stimulation protocols
This comprehensive approach ensures patients have access to the most advanced treatment options available, often years before they become widely accessible.
Breakthrough Fertility Research
Due to Dr. Boostanfar’s venerable reputation in research and clinical care, HRC Fertility is proud to be one of the few centers nationwide to lead multiple advanced clinical trials in reproductive medicine.
These studies represent the future of fertility care, focusing on safer, more effective, and more accessible treatment options.
Current Clinical Trials
GAMETO Trial (IVM / Fertilo Technology)
A New Era of IVF with Less Medication
The GAMETO study is evaluating a groundbreaking approach to in vitro fertilization known as in vitro maturation (IVM), designed to dramatically reduce the physical burden of treatment.
What Makes This Study Different?
Traditional IVF requires significant hormonal stimulation. The GAMETO trial introduces an innovative alternative:
- Eggs are retrieved earlier in their development
- Matured in the laboratory using advanced cellular technology
- Fertilized and developed into embryos as in traditional IVF
Key Benefits Being Studied:
- Up to 80% reduction in fertility medications
- Lower risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
- Reduced physical and emotional stress for patients
- Potentially more accessible IVF treatment
This study represents a major step toward making IVF safer, simpler, and more patient-friendly.

GRACE Trial (Next-Generation IVF Medications)
Expanding Access Through Advanced Fertility Medications
The GRACE study focuses on evaluating a new biosimilar medication used during IVF treatment.
Why This Matters
Medication is one of the most significant components of IVF. This study aims to:
- Expand available treatment options
- Maintain or improve clinical outcomes
- Increase affordability and accessibility for patients
What This Means for Patients
By studying next-generation medications, HRC is helping shape future IVF protocols that are:
- More cost-effective
- Equally or more effective
- Widely accessible to a broader patient population

REBALANCE Trial (PCOS Innovation)
A Less Invasive Approach to Treating PCOS-Related Infertility
The REBALANCE study is evaluating a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgical treatments for patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) recently renamed to polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).
The Innovation
Historically, certain PCOS/PMOS patients required invasive surgery under general anesthesia. This new approach:
- Uses a needle-based technique similar to IVF egg retrieval
- Avoids the need for laparoscopy and general anesthesia
- Targets hormonal imbalances at the ovarian level
Potential Benefits:
- Lower procedural risk
- Faster recovery time
- Improved hormonal balance
- New option for patients who cannot tolerate standard IVF stimulation
This study highlights HRC’s leadership in bringing surgical innovation into modern fertility care.
